FAQs

How does the Greek yogurt strainer work?
Place regular yogurt inside the fine mesh strainer and position it inside the collection container. As the yogurt rests, excess whey drains through the mesh while the thicker yogurt remains inside the strainer.

Can I control how thick the yogurt becomes?
Yes. The final consistency depends partly on how long the yogurt is allowed to strain. Longer straining generally produces a thicker result.

Can it be used for anything besides Greek yogurt?
Yes. This type of fine mesh yogurt strainer can also be used for preparations such as labneh, hung curd and soft cheese.

Does the whey stay separate from the yogurt?
Yes. The liquid drains through the fine mesh and collects in the outer container, keeping it separate from the strained yogurt.

Is the yogurt strainer reusable?
Yes. The strainer and container are designed for repeated kitchen use and can be cleaned after each batch.

Should yogurt be refrigerated while straining?
Yes. Yogurt should be kept refrigerated during the straining process for safe food handling.
